Blogging the Wayne County Convention
Today, I’m blogging the Wayne County Republican Convention
Approximate 100 people showed up on a nasty gloomy day.
Today, we are live blogging the Wayne County Convention, at 8:30 a.m. at the Wayne Center in Goldsboro.
Wayne County Chairman Mark Corbett, also a candidate for reelection, introduced a speaker from the Freedom Works, Robin Staudt, and she was sort of long winded, causing me a little discomfort because this was my first public appearance without the aid of my hummer(Hub-Around Wheel Chair). NC State Senator David Rouser, State Rep. Efton Sager, County Commissioners, Steve Keen, Andy Anderson and Sheriff Carey Winters all spoke. Letters was read from NC Senator Richard Burr and candidates running for the NC chair. The ongoing theme was a call for new and younger people to get involved and work toward the 2010 elections. New officers was elected and we will see If we chart a new direction. My advice to Wayne Repubs is to keep a line of communication open within the African-American communities and don’t just interact within when we are having a general election. My good friend, Dorothy Hardy, Syl Wilkerson and another unknown African American showed up, giving us a total of 4 out of 100. This is unacceptable, because we need to be in both parties.

First!!! I’m First.
Welcome home big boy. Its about time you started acting like a Republican. I know this is suppose to be a non-partisan blog, but some people come here trying to make it a democrat mouth piece. I hope you country bumpkins(no pun intended) down in North Cakalacky get it together.
March 14, 2009 at 11:28 pm
GOP!! Dumb Guy
You got to be the dumbest yokel I have ever encountered.
Everyone that has ever been on this blog know he is a republican, but run a non-partisan website. You finally was the first one to post, so sit your butt down.. I agree we need to belong to different parties, but I advocate being a member of a Indy party. Its about time this blog started back up.

The election of new officers was completed in a close election for chairman. A local attorney from Mt. Olive, Carroll Turner, was elected as Chairman of the Wayne GOP by a margin of 2 votes. Another Mt. Olive resident, John Bell, was elected as 1st Vice Chair by a margin of 10 votes. This new team of officials will chart a new course for the local Republican Party. Come an help in Building our local party.

GOP Brain Drain
I deliberate didn’t post because I wanted you to be first for once. ha..ha..
I’m glad to see some action on this blog because I was getting bored with all the partisan posts
from Dems and pubs on some of the other blogs I visit.
Ann, I am a staunch Dem, who have voted for some republicans in the past, and I like the idea of the Big Tent theory.
I supported Louis Pate in NC, but he lost.
GOP and Nasty. Are you guys going to continuing fighting? What about the stimulus bill?
March 15, 2009 at 5:56 am
Its 2 am and yous folks up in here yapping. You democrats better watch these republicans coming up here trying to recruit the Indy’s and Crats. I’ m watching you republicans.
Blond Bombshell, we know you’ll do like a lot of folks in Political Black.
Hell, you would vote for the devil if Loo told you to, but I appreciate your rabid support for Obama

Folks, do you know Marcus Kindley? I’m serious about Marcus Kindley. I despise neocons and I don’t need to know anything more about good ole boy Marcus other than him being a republican and probably a Jew to boot. He’s going to be yet another shill for that marriage amendment, while neglecting our state and supporting Dick Burr and Israel by putting the interest of that nation ahead of the USA every time. This joker even helped a preacher recently, the Rev. Walter King of Reidsville, N.C. form the first scout troop in a predominately black neighborhood. Just what Black folks need, a homophobic organization in our communities.
“Meanwhile, CNN show host D.L. Hughley criticized RNC Chair Michael Steele for backing down from the anti-Limbaugh remarks he made on Hughley’s show. “Why is the name ‘Steele’? You should call him aluminum — he folded that fast. I don’t understand. Does Rush Limbaugh run the GOP? It seems like it to me,” said Hughley.”
I agree Rust Limbo have roots on the Republicans and I doubt Steele can survive. Blond Bomb, don’t get caught up in Republican rhetoric, they always talk about a big tent, then shut the door If you don’t walk the party line. Long live the Democrats.
EDITED BY LOO: ONLY BECAUSE IT HELPS MAKE TRUEBLUE LOOK LIKE THE RAVING, ANTI-SEMITIC MORON HE IS, I’LL NOTE THAT I DON’T KNOW OR CARE WHETHER KINDLEY IS A JEW –HE HAS A RIGHT TO RUN–
March 15, 2009 at 6:57 am
West Coast in the house!!! Hey Blond Bomb–Christ–
Welcome Joe and Ann and any other newbies. Usually, we tolerate things in here that others would never allow, but we do believe in freedom of speech.
TrueBlue.. Again, you are a lying racist! Why you want to disparage Mr. Kindley? Do you know him?
Furthermore there is nothing wrong with people being Jew or Muslim, because we have religious freedom, but you are an ignorant bigot. Get a life.
Didn’t someone say:
Spare us the stupidity. Your views are tantamount to an act of ignorance that makes one think you are void of an educational training.
Must I remind you once more?
Ignorant – 1 a: destitute of knowledge or education; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified
b: resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence 2: unaware, uninformed
bigot – a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.

The unknown black at the Rep. Convention was Gerald English (nicknamed Rodman). He and my 3 sons are friends and pal around together. He has a carwash/boatwash business at his Grandma’s house on the Arrington Bridge Road near our home and is well thought of by the neighborhood for his hard work and good natured and helpful ways. He called several members of my family last week looking me to let me know my goats were out. Country people have to look after each other, black or white. Gerald contacted me a while back and said he wanted to be a Rep. and I got him the form. I told him he could ride with me to the convention and meet some of our folks and I think he was received well. I also told him if anyone was unkind we would both leave, as I said country people have to look after each other. Loo, call me and I’ll give you Gerald’s # and you can ask him personally what he thinks.
As far as the Rep. Party I hope the new leadership can bring us together and quell the in fighting. We need both parties as checks and balances so the most voices can be heard.
March 15, 2009 at 3:44 pm
Christ…I vote for who I like.
I also think the Repubs would be wrong to remove Mr. Steele, because they can kiss any AA
votes goodbye if they do. I think it will take him a while to get into his job.
March 15, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Morning Blond and all my old friends.
I think Steele made a mistake and has apologize for it. His main focus should rising money and setting up an organization that will be ready for the 2010 midterms not going on liberal television shows bad mouthing conservatives trying to kiss up to liberals and then say nothing when the left wing host compares the party chair to Nazis
If he now understands this I oppose this confidence vote to remove him and don’t believe it should happen.
The Hill reports former US Commerce Secretary Bill Daley (D) — brother of Chicago Mayor Rich Daley — is expected to shortly jump into the 2010 race against embattled US Senator Roland Burris (D). Jesus, just what
we need, another crooked chicago politician to stink up the country.
March 15, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Hey NY, How you been?
I’m trying to figure out how one can truly be an independently voter if he/she votes for republicans or democrats most of the time. The Republicans platform on abortion, gun control, social services, and many economic policies are blue prints for disasters. Lord, help us if this country isn’t turned around. I just left the chat room and the talk of the day was Bin Laden’s tape.

Mexicans will be running NC soon, giving weaves and etc to Black folks too.
The RBC is clueless, nobody could possibly be that much of a moron even if they tried really hard. I said it before, the best thing to happen to the RBC is for God to strike one of their meeting and leave them all disabled 80% so they would need to be replaced. Pity poor Mike Steele.
The Democrats are a bunch of trolls. The DNC is plague with tax cheats, making it hard for Obama to fill his cabinent. The Stimlus-Immi-Open-The-Gate bill will allow illegals to tap into a pool of money for poor impoverish americans, and who are the poor folks in america?
I like Mexicans, and have no problems with them, but we need to help Americans first.
Have you seen those spoof sites. Check our this spoof Lou Dobbs for New Jersey Governor website. Very funny! http://www.dobbsforgovernor.com
And see These Mexicans Got 2 Go http://www.thesesmexicancgot2go.com
March 15, 2009 at 4:34 pm
Joe, Ann and Arnold Flowers. You Repubs are so kooool, so I better watch you. Folks, its Repubs like these that will eventually hurt the Dems, hell Arnold Flowers have a political name and should run for office.
March 15, 2009 at 7:45 pm
The Republicans have started to implode. US Senator Vitter tried to pull rank at the airport. You can’t jump in line in America, because common folks will not tolerate it. Vitter lost support among his conservatives base two years back after getting caught in a prostitution scandal. Secretary of State Jay Dardenne (R) previously expressed an interest in the seat, although his lack of activity in moving forward with a campaign seemingly indicates he will also pass on the race. Porn performer Stormy Daniels is exploring a GOP primary challenge to Vitter — claiming she wants to expose his hypocrisy — but it is essentially a publicity stunt for her own career. I love to have a porn star in congress.

The reason Republicans will be out of office. While the economy fizzles, Rep. Bill Posey, R-Florida, introduced legislation this week requiring candidates to produce a birth certificate to be eligible to run in future presidential elections, triggering a sharp reaction from Democrats who accused him of “questioning President Obama’s citizenship.”
Posey submitted a bill with no fanfare Thursday that instructs the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to be amended to add the birth certificate requirement. The Constitution requires that a president or a vice president be “a natural born citizen.”

What is goin On? In a budget proposal released Friday afternoon, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal indicated he is only rejecting $98 million of the federal stimulus funds due his state.
That figure is far less than the $700 million South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has indicated he may reject if the federal government does not allow Sanford to use that money to pay down his state’s debt.
Jindal’s announcement also comes a day after Texas Gov. Rick Perry said he would reject the $555 million in federal funds direct to his state to expand unemployment benefits.
Jindal, an early GOP critic of the stimulus bill, is specifically rejecting funds aimed at expanding unemployment benefits on the belief his state would have to pick up the tab on the provision in two years.
In the budget proposal released Friday, Jindal emphasized the money he is accepting is temporary and a means to ultimately cutting spending.
“It is very important to understand…that federal stimulus funds are temporary funds. As such, they cannot be thought of as a permanent part of our state’s budget,” he said Friday, adding, “Federal stimulus funds give us time to reform how the state runs so we can cut spending, ensure we are spending efficiently, and live within our means.”
March 16, 2009 at 4:22 am
Christ—Waht Do You Expect?
If This stimulus funding were to be invested entirely in Iraq or to fund some other nation building project over in the middle east. Republicans, with the exception of Ron Paul would support it unanimously.
Funding schools, firefighters, cops and roads is only ok when we do it for foreign countries. If we fund those projects in our own country though it’s socialism.
March 16, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Why are these conservative politicians giving credence to these tin foil hat conspiracy theorists when Obama has produced a birth certificate?
What reasons do they have to believe it’s faked or altered?
Here’s an idea. Just say you have to be a third of fourth generation American to run for President. Because that is really what these xenophobic racists are about with their birth certificate fixation.
They don’t think McCain’s was faked do they? And he was the one who was NOT born in one of the United States!

I live in Durham county and registered as a democrat back in 2002. My father’s as well as my father was always democrats and I thought all Black Republicans were brain washed, uncle toms. I have been receiving eblasts from political black for 5 years. I tried to read them all, but during the 2006-2008 elections, I started to pay close attention to what the Republican had to say. I’m not quite ready to join their party yet, but I do like some of their ideas. I am not a conservative, but a common sense person believing that we must listen to candidates, and judge them on merits rather than party. I do like the idea that someone like Mr. Oates can talk to all parties and continue to get support from different segments of the population. Some of his articles have torn into Democrats and Republicans alike and his brutal portrayal of candidate Obama bordered on character assassination, but he has been equally nasty at times, especially to Al Gore and I find his boycott of the state of South Carolina courageous. How he survived being a Republican all these years was made clear to me when I read “About Black Men” I read Joe, Ann and Arnold’s post and I like the tone of their take on things. I saw the local paper and was disappointed that delegates adopted a resolution supporting Israel and one asking the county commission to support the Defense of Marriage bill currently in the state Legislature.
I am not in favor to any foreign aid to anyone until we get our own mess in order, but I still hope the republicans keep the door open to that big tent.

President shows his colors. Just another politican like all the rest.
When President Barack Obama signed the massive spending measure into law last Wednesday, He reneged on a campaign promise to observe a one-year earmarks moratorium because the bill contained almost 8,600 of the local appropriations worth $7.7 billion.
The Employee Free Choice Act is another attempt to stifle economic growth in this country. Alienating workers who don’t want to be thugged into a union is not the way to make this country prosperous. And while the unions are bankrupting car countries in this country….this is not the time for this far left agenda.
March 16, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Hello everyone. I’m back and still supporting our pres.
March 16, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Hey Betty. You can catch me on Twitter.
March 16, 2009 at 1:31 pm
The unions aren’t perfect, but they’ve been around for decades and GM and Chrysler managed to do very well for most of those decades.
could it be that the executives at these car companies are making cars people don’t want?
March 16, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Arguing that something has been doing well for years when it is the source of the sickness thats leading to the companies and the industry’s demise….is like defending smoking because someone hasn’t died yet in the first few years of smoking a cigarette…
March 16, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Blond, we all know you are a mouth piece for Loo and will carry his message, and hell yeah, I beat you to the punch. Before you know it, we Repubs will be taking over.
ps-have I been sitting long enough nasty?
